Idea 11: The Solar Superpower

Alright, strata superstars, let's harness the power of the sun!  We all know solar panels are a win for the planet and our wallets, but when it comes to strata, it can feel like a whole different ballgame. Don't worry, we've got a plan to get your building powered up and ready for a greener future!

• The Watts Up? First, we need to understand how much electricity our building is using. This data will help us figure out the right size for our solar system.
• Check the Rules: Some solar installations are considered "Exempt Developments" but don’t assume!  You will need to check the council's requirements.
• Get a Pro: This isn't a DIY job! You’ll need to get at least three quotes from Clean Energy Council (CEC) approved solar retailers.
• Check the Roof: Depending on the building's height and roof type, you may need a structural engineering report to make sure the roof can safely support the weight of the new solar system.
• Look for Rebates: Solar systems might be eligible for government rebates or grants.
• Get it in Writing: Installing a solar system will require a vote from the owners. Your strata manager can help prepare an ordinary resolution for the next meeting.
